Join Us. Donate serving 260 students
The Legend EDGE program is a proud member of the Foundation for Douglas County Schools (FDCS). Through the FDCS, donations are used to lay the foundation of the EDGE program, cover the cost of field experiences, internships, new technology & memorable learning opportunities.
Field experiences allow students to take their learning beyond the walls of the school and connect their experiences to the real world through excursions and unique experiences. Past field experiences have included Coors Field, Pepsi Center, Eisenhower Tunnel, and the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge at Denver University.
EDGE students complete job shadows or brief internships in career fields of interest. EDGE works diligently to provide memorable insights into a wide variety of fields including Aerospace, Engineering, Computer Science, Geology, Paleontology, Aviation, Architecture, Business, Advertising, Therapy, Highway Patrol, Game Warden, Culinary, Occupational Therapy, Law Enforcement, Acting/Theater, Graphic Design, Video Game Design, Dermatology, Journalism, Art, Psychology, Music Production, and Live Music.
Educational travel opportunities are available for EDGE students. During the summer months, there is a 21 day live and learn adventure in Spain. Students stay with a host family to learn the Spanish language, culture, and traditions.
In the spring, there is a six-day trip to Washington, D.C. and New York City. The itinerary of this trip is packed full of the wonderful historical and cultural opportunities that two of our nation's greatest cities have to offer.
COLORADO COLLEGE TOURS
EDGE students have the opportunity to explore colleges and universities throughout Colorado. Our ultimate goal is for students to truly explore the aspects that will be the best fit for them and provide opportunities that will ultimately make them successful beyond their education. With each college visit, students will explore the essential aspects of a college they are looking for, such as the importance of majors, internships, honors programs, financial aid, location, dormitories, student life, study abroad programs and more.
