We are excited to kick off our 3rd Quarter Exhibition and the kids are geared up to impress. Grade level presentations will be separated into two different nights to optimize student presentations.

As a reminder, the exhibition night is an essential element of every EDGE student’s learning and growth process. Exhibition nights are considered mandatory for all EDGE students.

All debates will be broadcast via Twitter Live @LegendEDGE1. Each student will need to communicate to parents informing them of when their debate will air. The debates will take place either Monday, March 5th or Wednesday, March 7th.

10th Grade Science and Spanish - Forensics
Students are creating forensic file - explaining how evidence is collected, processed, and used to solve a crime or identify a suspect(s) through the process of inquiry. In Spanish, students
are working in groups to come up with an original creative Crime Scene

9th Grade Debates

Watching Freshmen debate politics, the environment, social issues, and arguing with their friends in Spanish is amazing to see! They are doing this due to their Humanities and English Intensive time for their Change Campaign.

EDGE Teachers not at Parent Teacher Conferences
As a reminder, EDGE teachers do not participate in the Legend Parent Teacher Conferences which are scheduled for March 8th. This would be an opportunity for parents to meet your student’s elective teachers. JA Stock Market Challenge

The spring Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge presented by Charles Schwab will be held on March 15, 2018 at their Lone Tree campus 9899 Schwab Way, Lone Tree. This is an awesome experience for students to learn first-hand how the stock market works through a fast-paced live-action stock simulation. They will have the opportunity to spend a couple hours on the JA Stock Exchange Trading floor, competing as a team against other schools.
We will be taking 40 EDGE students that have signed up for the event to compete in the challenge. Students will be responsible for providing their own transportation to and from this event. More detailed information will be sent out to the participating families.

Job Shadowing and Internships - Spring 2018
The Legend High School EDGE Internship Experience Program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to become productive and responsible citizens of the 21st century. The program enables students to extend their learning beyond the school. It offers an opportunity for students to apply their high school knowledge and skills to a career exploration in an area of personal interest.

Student Celebrations
Grace Krumwiede's passion project is called "Helping Hands." She is helping underprivileged students in Haiti by collecting donations of hand sanitizer from Ora Labs and local elementary schools in order to promote a healthier lifestyle and help eradicate diseases.
Currently, she has collected 2,108 bottles of hand sanitizer. Awesome job Grace!

Youth Leadership Douglas County
It’s that time of year again! Time to apply to Youth Leadership Douglas County!
We have changed the program slightly, and are now accepting all high school students into next year’s class. Any student who will be in high school next fall is eligible to apply for YLDC. The class will still meet once a month for an all day experiential leadership opportunity during the first year of the program (Government Day, History Day, Finance Day, Media Day, Law Enforcement Day, Health Care Day, Fire Safety Day, etc.). The second year of the program students will meet for four regular classes, but will also engage in community service in an effort to give back to society and make a difference in the community.
Sophomore EDGE Students Enzo Ewari and Grace Krumwiede are currently in this program if your student has any questions.
